Who we are

OpenTalk.tv is an independent video chat website for adults, built around private 1-on-1 video conversations. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any other website, app or service that may use the OpenTalk name. When this policy says "we", it means the team operating this website and nothing else. The Terms of Use set the rules for using the service; this policy covers your information.

What we collect

We keep this list short on purpose. Depending on how you use the site, we may handle the following:

• Basic account details. If an account is created for you — which can happen automatically when the connected chat platform requires one — that can include a display name, an internal identifier and your session preferences. You are never asked to fill out a long registration form first.
• Device and log data. Browser type, device type, approximate region derived from your IP address, the pages you visit and timestamps. The usual technical logs that keep a website running and secure.
• Cookies. Small files your browser stores to remember preferences and help us understand site usage. Section 5 covers these in more detail.

Camera and microphone

Your camera and microphone are used only while you are in a live video session, and only after your browser asks for permission and you say yes. The browser shows an indicator whenever either one is active, and you can revoke the permission at any time in your browser settings — the change takes effect immediately.

We do not build a public profile from your sessions. There is no searchable page of you, no public gallery of your video, and no profile for strangers to browse. A session exists between the two people in it, and then it is over.

How we use information

We use the information above to do three things. First, run the service: match you with another person, keep a video session stable and remember your preferences between visits. Second, keep it safe: detect and limit abuse, spam and behavior that breaks the rules — the safety guide explains what that looks like in practice. Third, improve the product: understand which pages work and which ones people leave.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use the content of your conversations for marketing.

Analytics and cookies

We may use analytics tools — for example a Google Analytics 4-style tag — to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages get visits, roughly where traffic comes from and where people drop off. These tools rely on cookies, and the reports they produce describe crowds, not individuals.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop the site from working; blocking strictly functional cookies may affect things like remembered preferences.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. Full stop. We do not rent it, trade it or hand it to data brokers, and we do not share it with advertisers for their own use.

The service providers that help us run the site — hosting, infrastructure, analytics — only receive what they need to do their job, and they are bound by their own obligations to handle it properly.

Data retention

We keep information only for as long as it serves a purpose described in this policy. Technical logs are rotated and deleted on a rolling basis, and account-related data is kept while an account exists and removed or anonymized when it is no longer needed. When in doubt, we delete rather than archive.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, local law may give you additional rights — we honor reasonable requests regardless of geography.

Much of it is directly in your hands too: block cookies, revoke camera and microphone permissions, or simply stop using the site. To make a request about your data, use the contact route in section 11.

Age requirement

OpenTalk.tv is strictly for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service, please tell us through the contact route below and we will act on it. The safety page explains the age rules in more detail.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will do our best to flag it clearly rather than quietly edit the fine print. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
