Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and OpenTalk.tv. They cover who may use the service, what you may and may not do in a one-on-one video conversation, and where each side's responsibility begins and ends. Plain language, no riddles — if something here is unclear, the about page is the way to reach us.

01The service

OpenTalk.tv is a one-on-one video chat website. It pairs you with another adult for a private, real-time video conversation — you and one other person, face to face. It is not a dating service, not a social network with public profiles, and not a live-streaming platform. We provide the matching and the video connection; the conversation itself belongs to the two people in it.

The service is free to start and runs in a modern browser, on desktop or mobile, with no app download. Features may change over time as we improve the experience.

02Who can use it

OpenTalk.tv is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old — or the age of majority where you live, if that is higher — to use any part of the service, including browsing this website. There are no exceptions. By using OpenTalk.tv you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you are under 18, please leave now. If we learn that a minor has accessed the service, we will terminate that access.

03Your account

There is no long registration form. When the connected chat platform requires an account, one may be created for you automatically as part of entering the experience. That automatic account is still yours, and you are responsible for everything that happens through it.

Keep access to your session private. Do not share it with anyone else, and do not use the service on a device or network you do not control if you are not comfortable with the session staying open there.

04Acceptable use

One-on-one video chat only works when both people feel free to talk. The following are not allowed, in any conversation, at any time:

• anything illegal under the laws that apply to you or to us;
• harassment, threats, hate speech, or deliberately degrading another person;
• any content or conduct involving a minor — this is zero-tolerance and reported where required;
• recording, screenshotting, or redistributing another person without their clear consent;
• impersonating someone else, or misrepresenting your identity to deceive;
• scams, spam, advertising, or pressuring anyone for money or personal data.

05Content and conduct

Conversations on OpenTalk.tv happen live between two people. We do not pre-screen what is said or shown in a private match, and we cannot control how any individual behaves. You are solely responsible for your own words, actions, and everything you choose to share on camera.

Treat every match like the stranger they are. What another person tells you about themselves may not be true, so keep your private details private — your full name, address, workplace, and anything financial.

06Reporting and moderation

Report and block tools are built into the chat experience. If someone violates these terms, use them — reporting is how problems reach us. Leaving a match always works and takes effect immediately, for any reason or no reason at all.

When a report shows a violation, we may warn, suspend, or permanently remove the account involved, at our discretion and without prior notice.

07Intellectual property

The OpenTalk.tv name, logo, design, text, and other materials on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the site or its branding without written permission — and you may never reuse another person's image or likeness from the service.

08Disclaimers

OpenTalk.tv is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular number of matches, or any particular outcome from a conversation. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

09Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenTalk.tv and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount, if any, that you paid to use it during the period giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the service changes or the law requires it. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top. By continuing to use OpenTalk.tv after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the service.

11Independent brand

OpenTalk.tv is an independent video chat website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any other website, app, or service that may use the OpenTalk name or a similar one. References to any third-party name belong to their respective owners.
